CCNP SWITCH Labs + GNS3 -VLANs, VTP and Trunking

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS JUST A PERSONAL EXPLORATION IN LEARNING WHAT NETWORK SWITCHING TECHNOLOGIES ARE AVAILABLE TO USE THROUGH GNS3. IT IS KNOWN THAT SOME THINGS DO NOT WORK. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FIRST HAND WITH EXPERIENCE.

Setup:

3725 Advance IP Services image

16 port EtherSwitch Module.

CCNPSWITCHLAB

Objectives:

Set up VTP domain for all switches. Make Distribution-Servers, Access -Clients

Create and maintain VLANs.

Configure ISL and 802.1Q trunking.

Steps:
  1. Prepare the switches for the lab.
  2. Configure basic switch parameters.
  3. Display the switch default VLAN information.
  4. Examine VTP information.
  5. Configure VTP on the switches.
  6. Configure trunking.
  7. Verify trunk configuration.
  8. Configure access ports.
  9. Verify VTP configuration.
  10. Configure VLANs by assigning port membership.
  11. Configure VLANs in configuration mode.
  12. Change the VLAN names.
